Initial Consultation

Phoenix Mental Health and Wellness is a group of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) specializing in medication management in an outpatient, non-crisis setting.  During a 55 minute initial consultation, a provider will perform a full evaluation of needs and formulate a customized treatment plan, including medication(s).

Most medications can be prescribed during that initial consultation and sent to the requested pharmacy for pick up within 24 hours.  Follow-up visits are scheduled 2-4 weeks after the initial consultation to discuss the medications efficacy as well as any side-effects.  During these follow-up visits, medications may be adjusted to achieve the desired outcome for each patient.

If medication is not wanted or not medically appropriate, patients are referred to counselors outside of our practice.  We offer telemedicine appointments through a free, HIPAA compliant app available on smart phones and computers.

Cancelation Policy

Appointments must be cancelled at least two (2) business days prior to the scheduled appointment time. Clients can cancel their appointment by calling the main phone number to the center for psychiatric providers or emailing their specific therapist prior to the two (2) business day cutoff. There is a $100 charge for no-show and late cancellation of therapy and psychiatry appointments. There is a $300 charge for no-show and late cancellation of testing services. If you have a card on file, payment will be collected by the appropriate staff member. If you do not have a card on file, you will receive a bill.

Follow-up and medication management

During your follow up appointment, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will evaluate your treatment plan to make sure you are progressing towards your goals. We will continue to customize your treatment plan as needed including medication management which may include dosing or medication changes. Most medications can be prescribed at the time of your visit and sent to your pharmacy. If medically appropriate, controlled substances can be prescribed, following an in person appointment.
